A Chamber Music Residency Concert

Step into a world where the voices of Brahms, Brandon, and Schubert intertwine, creating a captivating and dynamic program of chamber music.  The concert opens with Brahms' *Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115*, where the rich, warm tone of the clarinet intertwines with the depth of the string quartet. Written in Brahms' later years, this masterpiece fuses lyricism and drama, creating a work of introspection and poignancy that explores the emotional nuances of the clarinet’s voice.

Next, experience Canadian composer and Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Fountain School faculty Amy Brandon’s threads for string quartet, a bold and intricate work that pushes the boundaries of sound. Through her experimentation with texture and extended string techniques, Brandon weaves a musical tapestry that reflects both tension and release.

The program concludes with Franz Schubert’s *String Quintet in C major, D. 956*, a towering masterpiece that blends elegance with depth. Schubert’s final chamber work is filled with profound beauty and sweeping melodies, leaving a lasting emotional impact as it draws listeners into its expressive world of joy and melancholy.

In Interwoven Voices, these diverse works weave together, offering an exciting mix of classic Romanticism and contemporary innovation, all within the intimate setting of chamber music.
