DalOpera in Concert

Rapturous melodies, duelling divas & lots of high notes!

Prepare to be dazzled as the voice students from the DalOpera ensemble take you on a beautiful journey through some of opera鈥檚 most beloved melodies including works by Mozart, Delibes, Bizet, Offenbach and more! Featuring the DalSymphony playing the opening overture, Mozart鈥檚 Impresario sets the stage for this magical evening of opera scenes.

The scene study聽part of the DalOpera program allows DalVoice students to focus on character studies, essential repertoire, movement and聽technical performance skills. In the spirit of a skills-based workshop, the scenes are semi-staged and semi-costumed in our unique concert setting, allowing each student a starring moment.

DalOpera is thrilled to collaborate with the DalSymphony and DalTheatre in preparation for this magical evening.

Interwoven Voices,
A Chamber Music Residency Concert

Step into a world where the voices of Brahms, Brandon, and Schubert intertwine, creating a captivating and dynamic program of chamber music. 聽The concert opens with Brahms' *Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115*, where the rich, warm tone of the clarinet intertwines with the depth of the string quartet. Written in Brahms' later years, this masterpiece fuses lyricism and drama, creating a work of introspection and poignancy that explores the emotional nuances of the clarinet鈥檚 voice.

Next, experience Canadian composer and 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Fountain School faculty Amy Brandon鈥檚聽threads for string quartet, a bold and intricate work that pushes the boundaries of sound. Through her experimentation with texture and extended string techniques, Brandon weaves a musical tapestry that reflects both tension and release.

The program concludes with Franz Schubert鈥檚 *String Quintet in C major, D. 956*, a towering masterpiece that blends elegance with depth. Schubert鈥檚 final chamber work is filled with profound beauty and sweeping melodies, leaving a lasting emotional impact as it draws listeners into its expressive world of joy and melancholy.

In Interwoven Voices, these diverse works weave together, offering an exciting mix of classic Romanticism and contemporary innovation, all within the intimate setting of chamber music.

麻豆传媒鈥檚 Fountain School of Performing Arts and its Chamber Music聽Residency聽Program welcomes internationally renowned musicians for weeklong residencies throughout the year. This program inspires through chamber music coaching, masterclasses, open rehearsals, and career discussions with students, culminating in thrilling performances by guest artists with Fountain School faculty.

Spring Swings and Sings,
A DalJazz Ensemble featuring DalVoice

The 麻豆传媒 Jazz Ensemble in collaboration with DalVoice will be swinging into Spring with a concert chalked full of choice jazz standards.

Directed by Chris Mitchell, the ensemble will feature soloists Jeremie Boudreau, Henry Banfield, Sierra Addyson, Ciaran Cody, Celeste Cook, Adam Dalton, and many more.

Alongside the DalJazz hard swinging big band, this concert will feature vocals from DalMusic students including Mwape Benyana, Ally Cribb, Sophia Maskine, Karina Matys, Madison Salcedo, Keira Tomietto.
