Career Path

The MLIS degree gave me a career. It taught me leadership, allowing me to improve my technical, communication, research, and change management skills. The thesis option equipped me to use software such as Opinio and SPSS and other citation management tools. I also gained confidence conducting research in various databases, and carrying out quantitative research through interviews. These skills helped mold me into a leader in library and information management.

My future goals include pursuing a Ph.D. and continued professional self-development. I have already earned Library Management certification and a Human Resources Management certificate. I see myself continously growing as an Information professional.

Information Management in Action

The courses “Information in Society, Research Methods,” and “Organizational Management and Strategy" made me realize the value of information in shaping our society and how information can be used to help develop our society in various ways. These courses were crucial in teaching me how librarians or information workers can make a difference through strategic information management, regardless of the work environment.
