Â鶹´«Ã½ was a special place for Mary Werner (1935 - 2017) whose science career spanned over 30 years and across several provinces. Her husband, Douglas Werner established an undergraduate scholarship in her name to support aspiring scientists. Now he’s expanding that commitment to create opportunities for graduate students.

In memory of Dr. Mohamed E. El-Hawary, the Faculty of Engineering has established the Mo El-Hawary International Student Bursary. The bursary will provide financial assistance to international students pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering at Dal, with a special focus on those studying electrical engineering.

Â鶹´«Ã½ lost a close friend and community member on May 13, 2024, with the passing of Arthur Irving, 93. His legacy will live on at Â鶹´«Ã½, especially through the Irving Oil Auditorium, and through his support of Dal Engineering students.

Robert Richardson (BComm’84) believes education is the great equalizer. He says it helped him overcome barriers and opened up a wealth of opportunities. Richardson is helping to clear a path for promising students who face similar challenges in achieving their dreams.

Dr. Dale Dauphinee (BSc'59, MD'64) has been giving to Â鶹´«Ã½ for 40 consecutive years in support of improving medical education — his lifelong interest — alongside medical research.

Damian Daniels (BEng’10) says Â鶹´«Ã½ industrial engineering professor Dr. Corinne MacDonald had a huge impact on his life and career. By giving to a scholarship created in her name, he hopes to do the same for a new generation of women in engineering.

Dale Daley wanted to motivate pharmacy students to be the best they can be. An award created in his name is doing just that.

Doran Donovan (BComm’90, MBA’94) hopes his gift will help students and community members alike find the same joy he discovered through sports and volunteering at Dal.

David Kerr (BSc’19, MBA’23) loves to have an impact. Thanks to his MBA, he’s doing that by enhancing Nova Scotia’s health-care system and supporting a new generation of BIPOC MBA students.
