The Faculty of Dentistry provides funding for students currently enrolled in the Â鶹´«Ã½ dentistry (DDS1 and DDS2) and dental hygiene programs to conduct a summer research project under the supervision of a faculty member. Faculty project proposals are Due in early 2025

Student applications and details of available projects will be released March 2025

Funding (up to $2,000) is available to support research-related activities of members of the Faculty of Dentistry. Activities such as research training, grant preparation, pilot studies, or dissemination are eligible. Ìý

The Faculty of Dentistry Research Fund provides funding (up to $10,000 for one year) for research projects that will help build research capacity within the faculty. Projects must have direct relevance to dentistry, dental hygiene, and oral health. Applications will only be considered from within the Faculty of Dentistry. Competitions are held three times per year.ÌýDeadlines for applications are 1 March, June, & November (or the following weekday, should the 1st fall on a holiday or weekend).Ìý

Research Nova Scotia (RNS)

fosters research and development contributing to improved social and economic outcomes for Nova Scotians.

Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CHIR)

is Canada's federal government health research investment agency, and is comprised of 13 institutes.

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)

supports student research, discovery research and innovation, and fosters partnerships between researchers and companies.

Network for Canadian Oral Health Research (NCOHR)

provides grant development funding to support researchers in preparing grant submissions at the national or international level.
