Minor in Religious Studies

The Religious Studies Program now offers a general Minor in Religious Studies:


Minimum 6, maximum 9 half-classes (XXXX.03) in RELS, all above the 1000 level. Of these classes, at least 2 must be chosen from:

  • RELS 2509.03: Hindu, Muslim, Sikh: Identity, Culture and State in Pre-Colonial South Asia
  • RELS 2510.03: Hindu, Muslim, Sikh: Colonial Trauma and Nationalism in Modern South Asia

  • RELS 4010.03: Islamic Philosophy: al-Ghazali
  • RELS 4018.03: Christian Theology in the Lands of Islam: John of Damascus
  • RELS 4401.03: Philosophy of the Greek Church Fathers


This minor is available to students registered in a 120 credit hour Bachelor of Applied Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Community Design, Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Informatics, Bachelor of Management, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) program. A BA (90 credit hour) degree program with a minor in Religious Studies is also available.
