Communicating
Messages from the university are sent only to your Â鶹´«Ã½ address, not to commercial accounts (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo). You can set up your Â鶹´«Ã½ account to forward messages to a commercial account. You can also check your Â鶹´«Ã½ e-mail over the Web, using .
File Transfer
Don't use e-mail to send a large file (over 20 MB). Better options include your OneDrive account, the Brightspace site for your course, or a free commercial service such as or .

Bulletin Boards
Bulletin boards throughout the building are organized by subject: scholarships, lectures, exhibitions, items for sale, etc. The bulletin boards on the landing are reserved for academic notices. Items posted in the wrong place or on the walls will be removed.
Incoming mail addressed to Architecture students is placed in the student mailboxes inside the Resource Centre. If you need to send inter-campus mail (addressed to other Â鶹´«Ã½ departments or to other Halifax universities), it can be left in the outgoing mailbox in the Architecture office. All other outgoing mail should use the Canada Post mailbox outside the school.
Emergency Phones
Emergency phones are located on the second floor (across from the elevator) and in the basement (outside B102). They connect straight to Â鶹´«Ã½ Security.
Fax
The fax machine in the Architecture office is not available to students, unless it is being used for a co-op work term job search with the approval of the Architecture office. If the Architecture office receives a fax addressed to a student, it will be placed in the student mailbox. A fee will be charged if a lengthy fax is received.
Messages for Faculty and Staff
Most faculty members don't have formal office hours but are often available in their offices. Mailboxes for faculty and staff are located in the faculty office area. Their office phone numbers and e-mail addresses are listed on the pages for Architecture Faculty and Staff in Architecture and Planning.
