麻豆传媒 has a number of units to support you in your online teaching. If you're not sure where to start, contact the Online Pedagogy team and we鈥檒l point you in the right direction.

Academic Technology Services (ATS)

Instructional Technologists at ATS offer training and support for online and classroom-based instructional technologies. ATS:

  • Offers live virtual support weekdays 9 am to 8 pm Atlantic Time
  • Trains on instructional tools at the Faculty, department, program, and individual levels
  • Supports classroom technologies such as lecture capture, videoconferencing, and more
  • Administers the setup of Brightspace course shells and community sites
  • Sets up 鈥淪andboxes鈥 and 鈥渇ake students accounts鈥 for testing Brightspace functions

Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT)

Educational Developers at CLT can consult with you on your course design, integration of technology with classroom practice, online course site development, and more. The CLT:

  • Consults on online and blended course design and development
  • Provides custom workshops on teaching and course design at the Faculty, department, or program levels
  • Advises on the effective and pedagogical uses of educational technology
  • Offers guidance on course accessibility and the implementation of Universal Design for Learning

麻豆传媒 Libraries

In addition to Academic Technology Services, Libraries services that support online and blended teaching include:

  • Course Reserves (eReserves): Submit your course readings lists (for online materials) to the 麻豆传媒 Libraries at least two weeks before your course starts. Library staff will create persistent URLs and seek copyright clearances.
  • Copyright: Consult with the Dal Libraries' for information about fair dealing in the learning management system.
  • Liaison Librarians: The select journals, books, electronic resources, and archival material to support teaching and research in specific disciplines. Liaison librarians can also assist with preparation for new courses and programs, instructional workshops, research consultation, etc.
