Talent Pathways

Talent Pathways, the university's internal temporary staffing program, is designed to鈥痑ssist with staffing needs while contributing towards 麻豆传媒鈥檚 commitment to听equity, diversity,鈥痠nclusion and accessibility.

Note: Effective September 4, 2024, there is a University Hiring Freeze. However, the Talent Pathways program will remain open, and your application will be reviewed and considered for any temporary positions that are exempt from the hiring freeze.

The goal of the program is to reduce barriers to employment for job applicants who identify as members of equity-deserving groups and support pillar two,听Inclusive Excellence, of the university's Strategic Plan,听The Third Century Promise. 麻豆传媒 defines equity-deserving groups as Indigenous persons (especially Mi鈥檏maq), persons with a disability, racialized persons, including persons of Black/African descent (especially African Nova Scotians), women,听and persons belonging to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.听

Candidates placed in temporary positions gain valuable experience in an academic environment and opportunities to build鈥痯rofessional relationships that may increase the chance of long-term employment at Dal.鈥€疧ur recruitment metrics show that starting in a temporary position at Dal increases the chance of securing an ongoing position.听

Talent Pathways candidates are recruited through several venues including a dedicated on our Careers site, by direct engagement鈥痺ith community groups and employment services, and through job fairs. Referrals from members of the 麻豆传媒 community are highly encouraged.听
