Admission requirements

As a GCE A Level (British System) applicant, you must meet Â鶹´«Ã½'s general admission requirements. You need a minimum of five subjects, including:

  • Two A (Advanced) levels or four AS (Advanced Subsidiary) levels with grades of C or better.
  • Math requirements are met through the GCE curriculum in the following ways:
    • Academic Math 12 is met by IGCSE or O level math
    • Pre-calculus 12 is met by AS or A level mathÌý Ìý Ìý ÌýÌý

SelectÌýGCE A Levels completed with aÌýminimum gradeÌýof CÌýare eligible for transfer credit consideration.ÌýPlease see the table below for a list of the GCE A Level transfer credits that Â鶹´«Ã½ currently offers. Â鶹´«Ã½ does not offer transfer credit for AS and GCSE or O (Ordinary) level classes.

Please note:Ìýthe transfer credits a student receives may be impacted by the degree requirements of their program.

How to request GCE A level transfer credits

Please note:ÌýTransfer credits are subject to change. Due to degree requirements, students in the Bachelor of Engineering program are eligible to receive a maximum of 12 credit hours of transfer credits.ÌýPlease contactÌýtransfercredits@dal.caÌýor speak to anÌýacademic advisorÌýfor more information.

At present, transfer credit is not offered for:

  • Design and Technology
  • English Language
  • Hindi

  • Urdu and Urdu Language

  1. Confirm your offer of admissionÌýbyÌýpaying your admission deposit.
  2. Complete theÌý. You can submit your completed form before your final exam results are available. Transfer credits will be listed as pending on your academic record until an officialÌýGCE certificate is received.Ìý
  3. You must arrange for a GCE certificate to be sent to theÌýRegistrar’s OfficeÌýdirectly from the examining board (i.e. CIE Pearson, EdExcel, etc.) as soon as it is available. Final exam results submitted directly from a secondary institution are also acceptable.Ìý

Please note:ÌýIf you have completed post-secondary academic work, in addition to GCE A Level courses, visitÌýdal.ca/transfercreditsÌýfor more information about how to submit a request form.

Deadline: Transfer credit request forms must be submitted before you complete your first semester at Â鶹´«Ã½.

Processing time:Ìý4-6 weeks.
