As of October 2017, former Fish-WIKS co-op student Jessica Hurtubise joined the Reconciliation Policy and Results team at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Ottawa as a Junior Policy Analyst. Her team drafts and reviews reconciliation policies to promote Indigenous rights in Canadian fisheries. Jessica will focus on incorporation of Indigenous Traditional Knowledge (ITK) in the Science sectors of DFO.
