During the week of June 12th, 2016, the Fish-WIKS PhD students,听Emily Bingeman,听Shelley Denny,听Mirjam Held,听Nicole Latulippe听补苍诲听Saul Milne, as well as Fish-WIKS Master鈥檚 student,听Lisa Blenkinsop, gathered in Toronto, ON for the Coastal Zone Canada conference. The students attended conference sessions, networked with fisheries professionals from across the country and presented a session, 鈥Mapping the shifting contours of fisheries knowledge and governance in Canada鈥檚 four coast regions.鈥 The session provided an overview of the Fish-WIKS project, with each of the students presenting a synopsis of their individual research projects with the four Fish-WIKS partner Indigenous coastal communities and highlighting the common themes of Indigenous knowledge systems and fisheries governance.

The session was well-received by the audience, many of whom work with Indigenous communities and were appreciative of the space to discuss Indigenous fisheries at the conference.
