Posted by Human Rights & Equity Services on April 7, 2025 in General Announcements

Human Rights and Equity Services (HRES) at Â鶹´«Ã½ is pleased to share drafts of its updated Harassment and Discrimination Policies for your review and feedback.

The package of materials may be accessed .

A feedback form for the Harassment Policy may be accessed .

A feedback form for the Discrimination Policy may be accessed .

In terms of "what's new," the Harassment Policy is intended to comply with recent amendments to Nova Scotia's Occupational Health and Safety Act that will come into force in September 2025.

The Discrimination Policy is mainly a refresh of its predecessor (Statement of Prohibited Discrimination). The new Policy sticks closely to requirements and definitions in Nova Scotia's Human Rights Act and applies them to the University context. A forthcoming draft Racialized Violence Policy will elaborate University commitments and procedures with respect to individual and systemic discrimination on the bases of race, ethnicity, national and aboriginal origin.

All feedback regarding the draft Discrimination and Harassment Policies must be received on or before April 14, 2025.
