The School of Occupational Therapy wishes to share the sad news of the passing of retired staff member, Yvonne Ling.
The School of Occupational Therapy felt a deep sadness with the recent passing of Yvonne Ling. Yvonne was with the School from 1990–2007 and the consummate colleague. She was always prepared, efficient, professional and organized. Her excellent work skills paled however, compared to her always-present infectious smile, charm, and compassion for students. It was no wonder that that she was the recipient of the Class of 2001 Faculty/Staff Recognition Award — a Class nominated Award in the School — for 4 years! She also had an award named after her that continues to be presented to a graduating OT student each year — the 2007 Yvonne Ling 25th Anniversary Award. This award captures the essence of Yvonne and who she was: an inspiration, collegial, helpful and always with a positive attitude. These attributes were always consistent with the students, the staff, and the faculty no matter how busy her day was. We have missed her since she retired in 1997 and now, we will miss her and the sunshine she shared with us.
