Posted by Environmental Health and Safety on July 30, 2024 in General Announcements

Â鶹´«Ã½'s Environmental Health and Safety Office is thrilled to announce that its comprehensive suite of computer-based training courses is now available to the general public. These courses, meticulously developed over several years, aim to fill a significant gap in the availability of high-quality, affordable safety training tailored to the Nova Scotian research context.

"Our goal has always been to provide our staff, students, and faculty with the best possible safety education," said Stephen Beaton, Executive Director (Acting) for the Environmental Health and Safety Office.

"By opening these courses to the public, we hope to extend these benefits beyond our campus and contribute to the broader community's safety and well-being."

Â鶹´«Ã½ encourages its community members to spread the word about these valuable training opportunities. By doing so, you can help others gain crucial safety knowledge that can prevent accidents and enhance workplace safety.

"We've put a lot of effort into making these courses accessible," Beaton adds. "Now, it's time to share this resource with our friends, families, and colleagues. Together, we can build a safer community."

Â鶹´«Ã½ staff and students can enroll for free in any of the safety courses, while the public is invited to take the courses for a low cost. We invite staff, faculty and students to view and register for courses through our  and for the public to do the same through FOLCD-EH&S Training.

Looking ahead, the Environmental Health and Safety Office is committed to continuing the development of courses that are relevant to the university context. We are excited about the future and look forward to sharing new and innovative training modules that will further enhance safety and health practices within our community.
