Do you own an Android phone? Are you interested in evaluating a suicide prevention app?

Researchers at Â鶹´«Ã½ in partnership with Roots of Hope Nova Scotia are exploring how technology can be used for suicide prevention.

We’re looking for participants for a study to evaluate a mobile application called ‘LifeLink’ that supports caregivers of individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts. This study consists of a pre-test survey (~ 5 minutes), after which you will be asked to install and use the LifeLink app for a week. After a week, you will be asked to fill out a post-test survey (~10-15 minutes). If you wish, you can also participate in an optional interview session (online) to provide more feedback on your experience with the app.

Qualifications Required:

• Age 16+
• Live in Canada
• Own an Android phone            
• Have supported or are supporting an individual experiencing suicidal thoughts including their caregivers, partners, grandparents, families, chosen family, friends, teachers, guidance counsellors, social workers, coaches, mentors etc.   
• English language proficiency

Your participation is highly appreciated and is completely voluntary. All data will be treated confidentially and for research purposes only. This study is part of a Master’s thesis and has been approved by the Research Ethics Board at Â鶹´«Ã½ [REB #2024-7043].
