General Announcements
Â鶹´«Ã½ researchers in the Faculty of Health are looking for study participants who identify as male, over the age of 50, and have healthy shoulders and arms.Â
What are we investigating?
- We are interested in understanding how the shoulder works to help advance the management of shoulder conditions that impact movement.Â
- We have designed a protocol to measure how your shoulders move and how your muscles activate as you lift your arms.
- We are interested in how repeatable these measures are.Â
What are we asking you to do?
- Make two visits to the School of Physiotherapy at Â鶹´«Ã½ for approximately two hours each visit.
- We will measure how your arms and shoulders move and how your muscles activate during standardized lifting tasks with and without added weight.
- We will measure how strong your shoulder muscles are.
By participating, you will be entered to win one of five $50 gift cards to the Dal Bookstore.Â
We are currently recruiting participants who identify as male for our reliability study for equal number of persons who identify as male and female.
If you are interested in participating or want more information, please contact us at jar@dal.ca
