Dr. Anya Waite is the Associate Vice President of Ocean Research at Â鶹´«Ã½ and the Scientific Director and CEO of the Ocean Frontier Institute. In the episode, we chat about how ocean research can combat climate change. The Ocean Frontier Institute brings together researchers, industry, and government to solve complex ocean problems. Using the $154 million investment from the Canada First Research Excellence Fund, we can now incorporate the ocean into climate mitigation strategies. Lisa Maddison is the Deputy Director at the Integrated Marine Biosphere Research (IMBeR) – International Project Office Canada. In this episode, we chat about Lisa’s academic and professional experience in Marine Sciences, including her role at IMBeR. IMBeR is a global research initiative working towards global ocean sustainability under global change for the benefit of society. They focus on trans-disciplinary research and are one of the few ocean research projects that incorporates the human dimension.
