In this course, we will review the basics of creative commons and the 5Rs, learn when, why, and how we may want to create or use open educational resources (OERs), and explore the various ways of engaging students in open practice by integrating open pedagogy into our classrooms. By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Explain what we mean by open educational practices and describe the advantages and challenges of practicing open education and pedagogy in our courses
- Develop strategies to address potential risks when planning to engage in open educational practices
- Create and design course materials and teaching and learning activities that are rooted in openness
This course will be delivered in a blended format as three modules over six weeks starting on Oct 3, 2022. Learners will submit short weekly assignments and a longer portfolio as their final project. More information including a link for registration can be found on the CLT website.
