Three questions, each answered in 150 words or less. One-Minute Meeting is a quick and easy way to get to know more about your colleagues, new and old. Learn how you can nominate someone at the bottom of this post.
Today's meeting is with Ray Bundy, Utility Service Person with Facilities Management.
What's your favourite thing about working at Dal?
One of the things that comes to mind is playing a part in the campus maintenance with my co-workers in the trades department. We have many buildings to maintain so we need the cooperation of one another to see that things run smoothly here at the Halifax campus.
What's the most surprising thing we might see on your resume/CV?
I found that I was always an introvert when came to being around groups of people. An old supervisor saw qualities in me to be a leader, which I did not understand at the time. He said, 'I'm making you my foreman.' This has helped me in my way of thinking. Years later, I would go on to complete a Â鶹´«Ã½ seven-day course in supervision. My union has also provided courses, which I have completed in Communications and Leaderships. I am very proud of this, and it has helped me to be our union local president the past three years. I think this would be a surprising thing to see on my resume.
