Teaching Assistant Posting 鈥� Earth and Environmental Sciences

POSITION:聽Teaching Assistant, 1 x 45-hour position

DEPARTMENT:聽Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science


RATE OF PAY:聽According to the CUPE Agreement

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Duties of the job includes:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with demonstrating tools and techniques in online lectures and labs

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide student support in online tutorial sessions

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hold virtual office hours

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Help trouble-shoot technical issues with remote platforms and software

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Mark assignments and provide feedback in collaboration with the course instructor

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with updating assignments and datasets as required

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with marking labs and presentations in collaboration with the course instructor

REQUIREMENTS:聽 Current undergraduate students who have previously taken ERTH 2270, and who achieved a grade of A or better, or graduate students who have a strong background in Geophysics. Previous experience in TA'ing classes or other university level teaching, especially in an online environment, would be a definite asset. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
