WORK ASSIGNMENT
To teach English 1100.03 section 02, Writing for University, in the Fall term of the 2018-2019 academic year, currently scheduled for Tuesday/Thursday 8:35-9:55 with most Thursday classes being held in tutorial groups. This section of ENGL 1100, restricted to students registered in the Â鶹´«Ã½ Kinesiology program, is expected to have an enrollment of approximately 150 students. The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching the class as a whole and supervising a number of teaching assistants who will lead tutorials. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, supervision of up to five teaching assistants, test preparation and evaluation, and grading the final exam. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in English or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching writing and composition at the university level and familiarity with writing for the Health Professions is required.

For each part-time academic the Chair will conduct an annual assessment of teaching performance, based on student ratings of instruction and may also include classroom observation, conducted either by the Chair or a representative from the Centre for Learning and Teaching with reasonable advance notice.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, supervision of a teaching assistant should enrollment warrant, test preparation and evaluation, and grading the final exam. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in English or be in the final stages of a Ph.D. program. Previous experience teaching at the university level is required.

The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
