Employment Opportunity: Registrar’s Office – Recruitment Officer (10-month contract)

The Recruitment Officer provides prospective students and parents with information to enable them to determine if the University of King’s College is a positive choice given the student’s interests and aspirations.Ìý The Recruitment Officer maintains relationships with school counselors and teachers and updates the Registrar’s Office with information about changes and developments in schools.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities
The Recruitment Officer is responsible for the following:
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Represents the college at post-secondary events and college fairs throughout Canada and the United States.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Promotes the university by delivering presentations to high schools, community groups, and the general public.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Maintains relationships with high school personnel and provides up-to-date information to counselors.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Schedules school visits and travel.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Assists with on-campus recruitment initiatives and events, including open house and campus tour programmes.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Assists with admissions processing, including application entry and data entry.
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Utilizes social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to assist in the recruitment of students and the promotion of King’s College.

Qualifications
Education – Undergraduate degree preferred with experience in marketing and communication. Preference will be given to University of King’s College graduates.
Experience - Experience in public speaking and representative roles is required. Superb oral and written communication skills are essential. Candidates should have administrative experience and competency with Microsoft Office suite. A valid driver’s license is required. Incumbent must be willing to travel for extended periods. This position requires flexible work hours (including evening and weekend work) with some overtime hours required.

Salary: $575.00/week plus 4% vacation pay and benefits
Starting Date: Monday, August 8 – June 2, 2017 (10 month contract)

Employment Opportunity: Registrar’s Office – Social Media Ambassador (Part-time Student)
Deadline: July 20th
The Student Ambassador will be responsible for social mediaÌýoutreach and follow-up to prospective students. This will include making and producing short videos on a variety of topics throughout the year. Candidates should have a strong connection to the King’s community and an established social media network they can leverage to benefit our social media outreach. The position will call for attending events after regular office hours as necessary.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities
The Student Ambassador is responsible for the following:
- Producing new content such as videos and photos as needed
- Ensuring the timely delivery of serialized posts from the student perspective and maintains the student social media calendar in collaboration with communications and marketing colleagues
- Monitoring King’s, Dal and community calendar to find activities to promote with prospective students.
- Connecting King’s events toÌýsocial media trending topics in line with our social media strategy.
- Maintaining relationships with high schools social media accounts and provides up-to-date information.
- Contributing student (prospective)ÌýFacebook group and dispatches appropriate posts when necessary.
- Posting relevant and engaging messages, videos, and pictures to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube on a daily basis.

Qualifications
Education – Current University of King’s College student preferred with experience in generating video and digital content for social media platforms.
Experience – Strong and demonstrated ability to engage users through social media content. Ability to shoot and edit timely and relevant interviews, on a smart phone, and make them into short videos to be posted online.Ìý Demonstrated active and quality profile on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Strong knowledge of current affairs and pop culture. Ability to manage and monitor multiple social media profiles through platforms like Hootsuite.Ìý Strong knowledge of social media landscape and sites to leverage King’s message and profile to prospective students.Ìý Ability to work independently as well as within a team.Ìý Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.Ìý Strong sense of judgment, discernment, discretion and sensitivity in relation to positing online content.
