POSITION: Part-time Academic
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of History
PAY RATE: As per Collective Agreement
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for History 3274.03, Nova Scotia: Post-Confederation, a third-year class conducted in the Fall Term of the 2016-17 academic year, September 1-December 31, 2016, which explores the development of Nova Scotia since 1867. Topics covered include regional economic development, the role of First Nations, the impact of the two world wars, and the rise of civil rights movements. Class is currently scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:35-12:55. The part-time academic is responsible for all aspects of teaching, administration and grading of the class, and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside class time for student consultation. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in History or be registered in a Ph.D. programme and have experience teaching Nova Scotia or Maritime history at the undergraduate level. Please apply in writing, with a copy of your curriculum vitae to:
