Research Assistant
NeuroCognitive Imaging Laboratory

Hours of work: Monday to Friday but considerable flexibility required (including possible weekends) due to the nature of on-Âgoing studies;; 37.5 hours/week.
Duration: Feb 22, 2016 – March 20, 2016 (with possibility of extension)
Duties: The Research Assistant will provide research support to Dr. Aaron Newman, faculty member in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry and director of the NeuroCognitive Imaging Laboratory, Âé¶¹´«Ã½. Duties include conducting telephone/email screenings of potential research participants;; scheduling research appointments;; testing human research participants, including administering questionnaires and computer-Âbased tasks;; data entry;; listening to audio files of human speech and transcribing them and coding them for part of speech and other linguistic features;; processing and statistical analysis of data;; research ethics compliance;; formatting, printing, and photocopying research-Ârelated documents;; conducting computerized literature searches;; assistance in the preparation of research presentations, posters, and manuscripts.
Qualifications: University degree (honours preferred) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Psychology, Linguistics, or Neuroscience), with previous human research experience. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively (including with language-Âimpaired populations), work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines, have excellent analytical and problem-Âsolving skills, and pay close attention to detail while working quickly and accurately.
Salary: $15-Â20/hour, commensurate with experience.
