Position: Part Time Instructor – Summer 2016
Department: Â Engineering
Pay Rate: Â Range $4881-$5969/course
Work Assignment: Â The Part-time Instructor will teach an online offering of MTHA 0050: Functions. Â This course is offered from June 15- August 26th, and the in-class exam will be offered on the Agricultural Campus on August 26th. Â The Part-time Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including: instruction and facilitation of the online component; instruction for the in-class labs; and test preparation and evaluation for both the online component and the in-class labs.Â
Prior to course delivery the Part-time Instructor will also be responsible for reviewing the course materials and making any necessary revisions. This may involve revisions to content, assessments, and course settings. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
Requirements: Â M.Sc. with experience teaching pre-university or lower-division math, PhDpreferred. At least one year experience of teaching in a postsecondary educational institution. Experience in an online teaching environment and demonstrated fluency with educational technologies. Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format and to work online with students on a daily basis. Â Have access to a personal computer and broadband internet services. Â Able to instruct and facilitate a meaningful learning experience of the course compentencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the online learning eenvironment. Excellent oral andwritten communication skillsand interpersonal skills.
