WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý The part-time academic instructor will be responsible for teaching NURS2050.03 – Pharmacology and Nursing during the Fall term of the academic year 2015-2016.
Students are introduced to the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the major drug classes with an emphasis on application in the clinical setting. Interdisciplinary and collaborative aspects of the nurse's role in administering and monitoring medications and their effects are explored. Students demonstrate knowledge of dosage calculation, preparation and administration of medications. Legal, ethical and professional principles of accountability are examined.
This is a 3 credit hour course. Lectures of three hours are held weekly on Thursdays, 1335 – 1525, from September 10, 2015 until December 8, 2015.
This contract runs from September 1, 2015 through December 23, 2015. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Delivery and co-ordination of the course
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Assessment and evaluation of student learning
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Use of BbLearn for course delivery
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Responding to student queries about coursework
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Participation in course discussions within the program
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Develop and administer examinations
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Submission of grades
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Follow up with students as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with relevant expertise and teaching experience. PhD preferred.
