On January 31st, 2015 the Â鶹´«Ã½ Agricultural Campus Judging team travelled to Montreal, Quebec to compete in the 65th Annual Macdonald Intercollegiate Judging Competition. This was the first year Dal AC attended the event and was represented by 1 team and 3 individuals who competed against other agricultural schools in agriculture and food related classes. The competition had a total of 30 teams with 120 competitors from eight different Universities across Canada as well as alumni and 4-H teams. The other universities competing included Macdonald Campus (McGill University), Trent University, University of Guelph, University of Alberta, Université Laval, Cegep de Victoriaville and Cegep de Sherbrooke.
It was a day of intense competition with students competing in 10 placing classes in livestock and crops classes and giving oral reasons to 6 of the 10. The competition also included 4 quizzes; two of which were agriculture related and the other 2 being mystery quizzes. The team had spent many hours in the weeks prior studying the classes and practicing giving their reasons amongst each other. The judging team only had three returning members this year, but Dal AC proved themselves by winning Top Overall Judging team of the 65th Competition and multiple other awards.
