Teaching Assistants Needed for BMgmt Program (5 positions)

POSITION: Teaching Assistant (January - April 2015) (5 Positions are available).

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Bachelor of Management

PAY RATE: $1357 or $1879 for the term - see descriptions below (as per CUPE 3912 Collective Agreement)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The teaching assistant(s) will assist with the teaching of MGMT 2601 - Knowledge Management

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1.聽聽 聽Conducting weekly 80 minute tutorial session on Fridays (options are 0835-0955 (2) 1005-1125 (2), and 1435-1555 (1)) (two tutorials is the higher pay rate above).
2.聽聽 聽Marking assignments, reports and exams
3.聽聽 聽Holding regular office hours to provide support and instruction to students (one hour per week, at a minimum). TA's may also have to meet with students on an ad hoc basis. TAs will have to make themselves more available as assignment, midterm and final exam dates approach.
4.聽聽 聽Tracking student attendance as directed by the Instructor.
5.聽聽 聽Be available (times and dates will be arranged between the professor and TA) to help proctor the midterm and final examinations.
6.聽聽 聽Assist the Instructor when needed (times and dates will be arranged between the professor and TA).

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:

Preference will go to students who have ssuccessfully completed first year of any of the graduate programs offered in the Faculty of Management (MBA, MES, MLIS, MPA, and MREM) or Faculty of Computer Science.

Have excellent communication skills.

Prior experience as a TA would be very helpful. Preference will be given to those with prior teaching assistance experience and particularly to those with prior experience in teaching management related courses at the undergraduate level.
