WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching SLWK 4034/4035.09 Section 08, “Field Practicum & Seminar - part time placement option” by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Winter session, January to August 2015.
The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring of Final Grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
