Tara Forstner won the award for best poster at this year's AUGC (Atlantic Universities Geological Conference) held at Â鶹´«Ã½, Oct. 18-20, 2012. The award's sponsor was Imperial Oil and her poster was titled "Bedrock incision and surface uplift rates of the western Hangay Dome, Mongolia."

At the 2012 Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference, Â鶹´«Ã½ landed two first-place wins and one third-place finish:
Brendan Nickerson (third year) placed first in the atomic, moldecular and optical physics category for his talk,"Digital In-line Holographic Microscopy: A Practical and Mathematical Understanding".
Landan MacDonald (4th year) placed first in the earth, ocean and atmospheric science category for his talk, "Understanding the Effects of Human-Generated Aerosols on Precipitation".
Bejamin Levitan (4th year) placed third in the Theoretical and Mathematical Physics category for his talk, "An introduction to Adiabatic Quantum Computing".
