A busy weekend for the Tigers was highlighted by a fourth place finish by cross country runner Jacob Benoit at the U SPORTS championship.
Cross Country
Fourth-year runner Jacob Benoit (Windsor, NS) crossed the line in a personal best time of 24:42 to finish in fourth at the U SPORTS Cross Country Championship on Sunday. The finish earned him First Team All-Canadian honours. He is the first Tiger to bring home a first team all-Canadian in cross country since 2015 and his fourth-place finish is the highest a Tiger has placed at the national meet since Paul Chafe's bronze medal in 2005.
Men’s Basketball
The Tigers went 2-for-2 versus the Saint Mary’s Huskies last week. Third-year guard Malcolm Christie led the Tigers in both games scoring 30 points on Wednesday and 21 on Saturday. The wins jump the Tigers up to second place behind Acadia who share and identical record.
Women’s Basketball
It was a tough week for the Tigers against a strong Saint Mary’s team.
Men’s Hockey
The two teams from New Brunswick were in town this weekend and the Tigers were able to secure mixed results in two high-scoring games.
Women’s Hockey
Forward Olivia Eustace extended her points streak to five games this week with an assist on Wednesday and a goal and an assist on Friday. She currently leads the AUS in goals with nine.
Men’s Volleyball
The Montreal Carabins were in town this weekend to face the Tigers in RSEQ action. The two teams split the results with the Tigers winning 3-1 on Friday and the Carabins winning 3-1 on Saturday.
Women’s volleyball
An up and down season continued for the Tigers this weekend. They fell to Acadia at home on Friday and beat cross town rivals SMU on Sunday. The Tigers currently sit at .500 this season and are in fourth place in a tight AUS table.
