Here’s what you may have missed this past weekend. Your Tigers hosted the Dr. Carolyn Savoy Memorial women’s basketball tournament, the soccer teams hosted their final home games of the season, and the hockey teams battled UNB & Moncton on the ice.
Women’s Basketball
The women closed out Friday’s games with a 68-53 win over the Lethbridge Pronghorns, forcing an impressive 31 turnovers. They then won a tight game 69-66 against the Laurentian Voyageurs, before ending the tournament with an 83-59 loss to the McMaster Marauders.
Men’s Hockey
The men were shut out 8-0 by UNB, then fell short in their attempt to bounce back with a 4-3 loss to Moncton despite 37 saves from Nicholas Chenard.
Women’s Hockey
On Tuesday night the women put up a fight against StFX, coming up one short as they lost 4-3, with two goals from Kennedy Whelan. The women then suffered a similar fate to the men, getting shut out 5-0 by UNB.
Women’s Soccer
The women came to win on Saturday against Moncton, putting up 4 goals while preventing any shots from the Aigles-Bleues. On the hunt for a playoff spot, they stepped up against the Acadia Axewomen in an energetic match. Neither team could pull ahead as they settled with a 2-2 draw.
Men’s Soccer
The men brought home a 1-0 win from Moncton, with Kyle Routledge scoring the only goal of the game. They then seemed to have met their match on Sunday, tying the Acadia Axemen 2-2. Both teams brought the pressure as they fought for a playoff spot.
