Fifth-year middle blocker Victoria Haworth is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Victoria led the Tigers in their back to back straight-set wins against the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues and the Memorial Sea-Hawks this past weekend.
She earned a total of 12.5 points with seven kills and five aces as well as three digs in the Tigers 3-0 win Friday night over Moncton.
She was steady again Saturday afternoon against the Sea-Hawks, earning 16 points with 12 kills, three blocks and three aces to lead the Tigers to another 3-0 win over the Sea-Hawks, earning Subway Player of the Game honours as a result.
A medical sciences student, Victoria is from Waverley, N.S
Third-year guard Keevan Veinot is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
In two victories over Saint Mary's University this week, Keevan averaged 19 points per game, with 4.5 assists and 4 rebounds while recording a stellar 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio over both games.
In Wednesday's 86-79 road-win at the Homburg Centre, Keevan scored 21 points, had 5 assists and snatched six rebounds, adding a crowd-pleasing dunk, in traffic.
In Saturday's 93-53 home win over the Huskies, Keevan again led the way with 17 points, 2 rebounds and 4 assists in only 20 minutes of play.
A native of Port Williams, N.S., Keevan is a commerce student.
