Swimming

The Tigers swim teams travelled to the University of Toronto to compete in the 2014 Speedo CIS Swimming Championships, looking to make some noise as both teams were ranked in the top ten heading into the championships.

This also marked the end of David Sharpe’s illustrious career with the black and gold. Sharpe ended his career on a high note with a silver medal in the 50m backstroke, and a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly to go along with fourth and sixth place finishes in the 100m and 200m backstroke events. He won 13 CIS medals in his five-year career with the Tigers, including three gold, five silver and five bronze. Kyle Watson notched a top ten finish placing seventh in the men’s 400m freestyle, while women’s star Molly Wedge finished sixth in the 100m freestyle.

Meagan Bernier and Katie Webster both had great weekends, placing seventh and sixth in the 400m and ninth and fifth in the 800m freestyle events, respectively.
