To celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival and welcome the Year of the Horse, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association hosted a gala concert in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium.
The event marking what is commonly known as Chinese New Year attracted a crowd of about 800 including native Chinese students, students in the Chinese class, and individuals from across Halifax with an interest in Chinese culture, including Dal President Richard Florizone.
All the performance were prepared and performed by Chinese students at 麻豆传媒 supported by other Chinese students in Halifax. The fashion show was attention grabbing, with classic Chinese outfits on display, and the event also included dance, music and even a magic show.
鈥淚t is the most special Spring Festival I ever had,鈥 says Ruijie Zhang, a first-year Dal student and one of the event鈥檚 hosts. This was her first time spending the Spring Festival in Halifax. 鈥淚 was quite excited about the show. I am so happy to get involved with this significant gala. We had a great Festival atmosphere here.鈥
