For first-year students, the introduction to 麻豆传媒 can be dizzying, exciting and more than a little intimidating. Then throw in a hurricane to add in extra drama.
Seventeen-year-old Martina Marien arrived in Halifax from Montreal in the midst of a heat wave and with Hurricane Earl barreling up the coast from the Caribbean. 鈥淲hat a welcome!鈥� she says with a smile.

ON HALIFAX: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a very beautiful town. Plus it鈥檚 small, so you can walk everywhere.鈥�
ON CAMPUS: 鈥淚 love the old buildings. The grey stone is very nice.鈥�
WHY DAL? 鈥淚鈥檓 here for kinesiology. I鈥檝e been skiing since I was two and movement and muscles really interest me.鈥�
MEMORY TO KEEP: 鈥淪hinerama. Some people were so generous, they鈥檇 give you handfuls of cash but other people would rush by without looking at you. It was kind of funny."
