This year's Sexton Scholar Reception was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015
in the University Club, Great Hall.
The Sexton Scholar designation, named for Frederick H. Sexton, PhD. is unique to the Faculty of Engineering ast Â鶹´«Ã½. This honor is bestowed upon students who achieve a GPA of 3.85 or higher; an average of 85% or higher. In addition, a full course load must be maintained in one or more academic terms during the calendar year.
Although Engineering is knows to be among the most challenging of academic disciplines; each year eight to ten per cent of our students achieve this level of accomplishment.
The reception is a celebration of the students who have proven they more represent the tradition of excellence for which Sexton stood, and for which he laid the foundations for others to follow and build upon. Each award recipient deserves our hearty congratulations for a job well done!
The students also nominated their favourite professors for the student initiated Teaching Awards. Congratulations! Here are this year's Teaching Award recipients:
