Beginning the week of October 30, construction will begin on theÌýupper floor of the MacRae Library. This will result in disruptions heard on the middle (main floor) of the Library.ÌýFor quiet study spaces, patrons are encouraged to check out our recently refreshed lowerÌýlevel, with over 50 ¾±²Ô»å¾±±¹¾±»å³Ü²¹±ôÌý·É´Ç°ù°ì²õ±è²¹³¦±ð²õ and group study rooms.
We can’t wait to serve our community in the completely renovated upper level,Ìýexpected to reopen in April 2018. The new Student Learning Commons will be a space unlike any other on campus, combining academic library services and student collaboration spaces in an open-concept design with lots of natural light, glass and bright colours.
Features of the new Student Learning Commons include:

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a meditation space
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý gender neutral washrooms
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý hand and foot washing stations
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a self-serve café
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a bookable video conferencing room for students
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a dividable program room with capacity for up to 60 people,
bookable by student societies, staff, and faculty
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a living wall
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý an Aboriginal mural
·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý a variety of seating options
