Join us in welcoming Art Stevens our new Manager, Aboriginal Students. In this newly developed position within the Faculty of Agriculture, Art will be working to help foster Aboriginal student success by providing specialized advising and support. Additionally, the position will serve to assist faculty and staff to create a welcoming and inclusive campus environment.
As part of Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s ongoing commitment to increasing diversity and inclusiveness, Art will also look to develop and facilitate new and existing relationships with local First Nations communities.
Art graduated from NSAC in 2010 with a BSc. (Agr.) in Animal Sciences and comes to us as the former Coordinator of Aboriginal Student Services with Mount Saint Vincent University where he is currently a M.Ed. candidate in Educational Foundations.
The position has already had success on campus as Art has worked on a number of recent Aboriginal initiatives including the recent permanent installation of the Mi’kmaq Grand Council flag, and the re-naming of River road to Sipu Awti.
You can find Art just outside Student Services in the Dairy Building directly across from the security office. – please drop by for a visit!
