The Arrell Food Institute announces . The awards recognize global leaders who are ensuring future food security for the planet, and hope to inspire new leaders to take bold steps towards change. Scientific excellence and community engagement are necessary to overcome the challenges our world will face in feeding 9 billion people and beyond.

There are two $125k awards - one broadly for food research, the other for community activity related to food. The prize comprises $100k (CAD) for the personal use of awardees plus $25k in expenses to attend the prize gala and for an associated speaking tour.
